LIFE ACCORDING TO LISA – One Of The Most Important Lessons I’ve Learned

Submitted by admin on Thursday, 29 January 2009No Comment

lisa-pic-150x150When you are young and seemingly have the world by the tail, don’t ever say, “I’ll never do that” or “I’ll never say that.”   99.9% of the time you will have to eat your words.  It may be years later but it will catch up with you.   A lot of those “eating your words episodes” will happen when you are talking to your children.  Such as, “Because I said so”,  “Your face is going to freeze like that”,  “Don’t you roll your eyes at me, young lady” and my mother’s favorite threat, “There are going to be some changes made around here”.   Now your mom may not have used these exact quotes but I bet you said something like this back to her,  “When I grow up and have MY kids, you better believe that I will never say that to them and I sure will never leave my house coat on when I take them to school”.   Now even though you vowed that you wouldn’t repeat those same things, if you have kids I bet you’ve said them. That’s not all bad.  It’s good on those days when you’re just too tired and frustrated to be creative with your own threats, to thankfully know that you can pull from those great past quotes of your mama’s.  (Just don’t forget to thank her the next time you see her.)
