LIFE ACCORDING TO LISA – My Trip To Fairhope, Alabama
My husband and I just went to Fairhope, Alabama. It’s down on the gulf coast of that lovely state. If you haven’t been there you should go for a little visit. The entire area is so scenic but the town of Fairhope is especially gorgeous and quaint. There are great little shops, restaurants and flowers. Everywhere you walk in the town there are flowers growing out of the sidewalks at the corners of the streets. Yes, they plant flowers right in the sidewalks (or at least in openings in the sidewalks.) The wooden trash receptacles are even painted white with pink geraniums growing
on top. Now that’s an ingenious way to camouflage a trash can! Fairhope is also the hometown of Winston Groom, the author of the infamous Forest Gump, one of my all time favorite movies.
We stayed at a darling Bed and Breakfast called the Church Street Inn. It’s right in the middle of town and you can walk everywhere from that location. If you want to “get away” to relax, shop, eat or be amazed by God’s gift of fabulous flowers then try Fairhope, Alabama. You’ll love it!
