LIFE ACCORDING TO LISA – The Lessons Of Spring

Submitted by admin on Monday, 27 April 2009No Comment

lisa-pic-150x150The grass always get green, the trees always bloom and the dirt always feels GREAT! I love Springtime! No matter how long winter is or how bleak life might seem at that minute, Spring reminds us that there is always a new day.

At the first sign of warmth I get the itch to start digging a hole. I have to tell myself over and over, “We haven’t had Dogwood, Redbud or Blackberry winter, yet. You know you’ll be sorry!” Sometimes I listen to myself and sometimes and I don’t.

I love to get my hands dirty (it’s really my gloves I get dirty) and I love to see green where brown used to be. At the end of the day there’s satisfaction in the progress and change you’ve made. You know that what you’ve just worked on all day will only look better as the season gets warmer. By July the flowers will be in full bloom, the vines will have covered the bare fence posts and the Knock Out Roses will have only made the front porch look more homey. You just can’t say the same thing about accomplishments inside the house. When you clean the toilet in March it just doesn’t get any better looking by July.

So, stick with digging and planting. Make your kids clean the toilets.
