SHANNON’S BEAUTY SENSE – The Perfect Hat For Shielding The Sun
As some of you know, I have extremely fair skin. So fair, that my husband has, on occasion, referred to my skin as transparent – like Saran Wrap. (Thank you, Honey, but you’ll appreciate that skin when I turn 60 years old and not a wrinkle to be found!)
A few weeks ago, my husband and I, along with 12 of our closest friends, made the annual trip to Baltimore, Maryland, to witness the second jewel of The Triple Crown – The Preakness Stakes. Even though we were expecting rain, we spent most of the days under sunny yet partly cloudy skies. I decided that this was the perfect place to test out my new Wallaroo Hat. Wallaroo Hats have many styles that have been tested by the Australian Radiation Protection Agency to provide 50+ sun-protection, as well as, shielding the wearer from 97.5% of the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. One of the things that I loved about my Wallaroo Hat (the Victoria Diva, $36.00), has an interior drawstring that adjusts the hat to fit so I didn’t have to worry that my hat would be blown away by a gust of wind.
While I always try to apply the appropriate amount of sunscreen inevitably I miss a spot and come out as a blotchy mess with red spots all over my face, arms and neck. But this year, not only did my Wallaroo Hat help to keep the sun out of my eyes, but I went home with zero sunburned areas, which is a first for me.
I am thrilled to find such a darling hat that is crushable (thank goodness because the suitcase was overflowing as usual) and also machine washable. In over 30 styles and more than 100 colors and patterns, I’m sure you’ll love the benefits of the Wallaroo Hat whether at The Preakness or at the beach!
