BFF (BEAUTY & FASHION FOREVER!) – Closet Denial
Hint: You Have to Admit You Have A Problem
Closet denial is a state that many of us live in. Often, not by choice, but after a while, it can become routine; a situation we learn to ignore. A few weeks ago I decided to finally face up to my denial and start to live by the fashion sense that I know I possess. I began to sort through my clothes and give away items that I hadn’t worn in months. Initially this frightened me because, honestly, I don’t have the largest wardrobe and though I literally hadn’t worn any of these clothes for months they gave my closet an added look of fullness.
Seeing as I am the only person who surveys my closet on a regular basis (and I clearly wasn’t being fooled) I decided it was time to give up the façade and admit to my CLOSET DENIAL. That’s right – if I ended up with one pair of jeans and two shirts at least I had an honest representation of the true state of my closet and I could begin to authentically present myself accordingly.
Fashion is about desire. Our own uncertainty to stretch the bounds of our personality and creativity force us to create ensembles that we decidedly settle on, determining that tomorrow morning will be different. Fashion is also about being entirely comfortable with your look and being familiar with your style. It’s being able to admire someone else’s style but not envy them.
In the end, we can’t be bound by the un-wearable, need to get rid of, clothes in our closet! It’s better to have a fresh start than to keep putting it off, wishing that the issue will magically go away.
So, take a deep breath and truly assess the situation. The less denial we’re in about our closets, the more able we are to reach our fashion best.

I have some nice things in my closet that are not in my ‘heavy rotation’, but still can bear to part with.
After reading this pc, I may walk back in and see it all differently.
can’t
i can’t part with….
I am sooo inspired! I moved back in with my parents to save money before I graduate in December and I went from a huge walk-in closet to a small standard closet. I really need to just grab things and throw them in a bag to drag off to the Salvation Army, but I haven’t been able to gather the nerve.
…I think I’ll do it tomorrow…yea…uh uh…tomorrow (lol)
