CONFESSIONS OF A HIGH MAINTENANCE CHICK – The Coffee Collection II
White.
Chocolate.
Mocha.
One, two, three, let’s say it all together now…. yummmmmmmm. In part two of my three part series of make-up looks inspired by my favorite coffee drinks, we take a look at the Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha. Starbucks describes this drink as: a delightful combination of espresso and steamed milk, sweetened with flavors of white chocolate and peppermint; topped with peppermint whipped cream and dark chocolate curls!
I describe it as mocha-chocalata goodness. I translate this look with peppermint-red lips and a slight touch of chocolate smoke around the eyes. My model, Samantha, portrays the perfect Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha Mama. Samantha usually wears very natural make-up looks, so it took her a little while to ‘warm up’ to trying this one. But as you can see from the pic, she’s a beautiful “swiss miss”.

Eyes: Fill in brows. Cover entire eyelid with a base shade of eyeshadow in a ‘cool’ or ‘neutral’ tone. I used my beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear Eyeshadow in Ivory Lace. The cream formulation make a terrific base for all of the other colors to adhere to. Use a fluffy brush like MACs 217 to work in deep brown shadow in and above the crease. I used matte shades, but play with texture to find the look that’s right for you. Line the upper and lower lash line with a deep, matte chocolate liner and follow-up with a matching brown shadow to ‘set’ it. Carefully smudge and smoke out to lower lash line until it disappears into the skin. MACs 219 brush is great tool… just a dab of shadow is all you need. This look is best achieved with a very light hand as the peppermint lips are the scene stealer.
Cheeks: Stick with very muted shaded to create contour. No springy-summer colors. Think almost muddy-pink.
Lips: Red, Red and RED!!! For Samantha, I applied a minimal amount of lipstick first, them applied lip liner to amplify the lip. A touch more lipstick to fill in any gaps, then a shimmery ruby red gloss in the center of the lip. On Samantha, I used Clarins Gloss Appeal in a dark crimson red. (forgot the name oops!)
If you missed my first look out of The Coffee Collection, don’t cry over steamed milk. I posted “Carmel Macchiato” on Tuesday, September 8th. You can find it and catch up. Come back Saturday to see the series finale… it’s good… promise!

Too cute! The lip color is a little too bright for me, but I know a few people who would love it. We should def tell the Starbucks people about this, lol.
I sent the Starbucks people an email on their idea board. Lots of people complain on the idea board… so my comment may be a breath of fresh air!
Very clever…I love it!
