I know this firsthand because at 5’10 I stand taller than most everyone I meet. This has everything to do with attitude because I embrace my height and wear it proudly.

I’ve come across too many women my height or taller who don’t stand up straight. They walk hunched over, attempting to blend in, and they ALWAYS wear flats. And don’t get me started on being afraid to wear heels because you’re already tall!

But I digress. The point that I’m trying to make is the importance of exuding confidence and courage and being able to recognize and maximize your best asset, which has a direct effect on your daily attitude. And sometimes this can often be seen in kinds of clothes you wear.

Recently I had the opportunity to attend one of several fashion show launches for the up-and-coming designer label Lolli Poppitt. The name alone triggers the imagination but simply put, the Lolli Poppitt best represents the girl who likes to “stand out” in a crowd.

Glitter decorated high heels, layers and layers of lace, ribbon flourishes, yards of tulle, bows and feathers are heavily showcased in the whimsical world created by Aurora and Amanda Elle. Self-taught, these young designers are heavily influenced by fairytales and childhood fables. Think, Alice in Wonderland visits New York City.

Just about all of the collection dares you to let your inhibitions go. There are no judgments in these clothes and anything goes in this ‘resurrected vintage couture’ fantasyland.
