LIFE IS A RUNWAY – Samford’s Beautiful Beauty Boot Campers
I’ve never been to a Beauty Boot Camp before but I was ready to give it a try along with 11 of my sorority sisters from Alpha Delta Pi at Samford University. Our boot camp instructors were Lisa Rouse and Shannon Lindsay from Southern Beauty, as well as, some very special guests from N’Vogue Salon and Spa.
We had heard that we would really learn a lot but we had no idea how much fun we were going to have. The night was spent discussing skin care, makeup and hair styles and we even got to have our makeup done, our eyebrows waxed and our hair fixed! We all loved getting advice from women who have worked in the beauty industry and know what ingredients to look for, and what to avoid. We learned about things that we had never heard of before and how they could possibly damage our hair or my skin.
All of us loved the personal attention; finding out what colors would be good for us and what cleansers and moisturizers to use for our skin type. We were able to ask all of our questions and have them answered openly and honestly. One of the many things we learned in boot camp was the importance of a nightly regimen. A nightly regimen should always include cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. We realized that we were all missing one key step…the toner! So we decided that we could not go to bed that night without performing the nightly regimen. There was no more toner for sale at Wal-Mart once we left the store.
The day after boot camp many of the girls spent time at N’Vogue and Sephora scooping up some of the great products with all of our new found beauty knowledge and even days later, we all have an extra glow walking around campus…the nightly regimen works miracles!
Now all we need is for Lisa and Shannon to take us on a personal “beauty field trip” to find the perfect colors and products just for us. We really had so much fun and can’t wait to learn more. If Southern Beauty’s Beauty Boot Camp comes to your school, don’t get left behind. Missing Beauty Boot Camp is missing out!

So glad to hear that Beauty Boot Camp was a “good thing”! (As Martha Stewart would say)
