Pearl Girl 150x150Calling all Southern Beauty cosmetic junkies!

As our beauty editors put together “Our Favorites” for a special countdown for the holidays we want to hear from you.  Tell us about your favorite products in the comments section of this post.  If you can’t live without that item we want to know why.

You can even tell us about it “in person” by making a video and letting us know all the reasons why you love it!

To submit your video just upload the video to www.youtube.com and then email it to videoreview@southernbeautymagazine.com.  Please send your videos to us by Nov. 16th.  (Make sure that you give us your contact information when you send the video to us.)  We will choose the best videos and put them on Southern Beauty TV right here on our website.  If your video is chosen as the “Best of the Best” we will send you a great gift bag chocked full of over $250.00 worth of beauty products!

Click on the video below to find out more information on how you can be involved in “Our Favorites -- Countdown to Christmas”  and share your favorites with other Southern Beauties for great gift ideas, both to give and to get!

bare escentuals “bisque”. bare escentuals is an all natural mineral makeup line. the bisque is a concealer. a few years ago we purchased our first “kit”. it included the bisque. the makeup is wonderful–no heavy feel on your face. we used the bisque like i’m sure everyone else would–to cover minor blemishes on the face. then my two daughters got into a wreck. the oldest was 16 and the other was 10. the 10 year old got hit in the face with the airbag. her nose swelled huge–not broke though. her lips looked like she had injections–only really red! there were, what looked like, scratches on her cheeks. after a few hours, we found out that those were not scratches–burns from the airbag. they were on both cheeks and right under her chin. and not minor ones either. she was embarassed to leave the house–head always down–looking at the ground. once the initial burns healed–there were scars. i felt so bad for her and was looking for a plastic surgeon. my 16 year old said “let’s put bare escentuals to the test”. she applied the bisque to all scarred areas and then the mineral foundation. the result was amazing!! you could not tell she had the scars. and her head was held high again. the scars have went away. my husband, who thought the makeup was too expensive and complained that we were buying it–now said that is the ONLY makeup we could buy!!LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

  • I’m here visiting for the first time in response to the giveaway you’re offering over at Southern Hospitality. I would have to say my favorite beauty product is lipstick…red of course! There’s just something about red lipstick that makes me feel special and like a lady! Thanks for offering such a fantastic giveway!

Good morning! In response to the giveaway from Southern Hospitality blog, my favorite beauty porduct is mascara. I feel absolutley naked without it! Even on days when I wear no makeup (which really means only minimal makeup) I still wear mascara. Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway!

  • Dawn S says:

My favorite beauty product is a facial scrub. It just makes my skin feel brand new and ready for moisturizer. Exfoliating on a regular basis helps my makeup go on evenly and really helps with the dry spots I experience in the colder months.
    Thanks!

  • Mal says:

Hey, I’m visiting from Southern Hospitality. My favorite beauty product in winter is balm. There are a lot out there, but I go with all natural peppermint balm and it helps protect my skins when I’m outside for long periods of time.

  • Donna says:

My favorite and “can’t do without” beauty product is Bare Essentials Summer Bisque! I’m a redhead with sometimes splotches and it covers anything and everything.

  • Laura says:

I can’t live without my Mabeline Great Lash mascara! I’ve used it since I started wearing make-up and nothing compares- can’t beat the price either.

  • Kathy says:

My favorite Beauty product is Lash Primer. My lashes stay great all day when I use a primer before applying mascara! BTW I love this site and I’m going to have to start checking it out more often! Thanks for the give-away chance from Southern Hospitality! :)

  • I like Olay products. The rejuvenist line.

  • Paige says:

I am so glad I found your blog through Southern Hospitality. My favorite beauty product is Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash. I love using this at the end of a long day. I also can’t live without my Burt’s Bees Lip Balm during this time of the year.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this great prize!

  • Kimberly says:

I, too, am glad I found your magazine via the Southern Hospitality blog! What a fantastic site. I know I’ll be here often.

My favorite beauty product is Bath & Bodyworks peppermint lip gloss. The clear gloss is great over any lipstick to add an extra shine or on its own for a more natural look. Plus, the peppermint is very refreshing. I always have a tube around somewhere, though I can’t seem to find the product on their website currently. I do hope last year wasn’t its last year in stores!

  • i grubb says:

So glad I found your site- through Southern Hospitality. Until the last couple of years I’ve never had a problem with dry skin- now that I have turned 60 my skin is terribly dry. I have been using Aveeno lotions and love what they do for my skin. I recently started using- Aveeno Positively Ageless™ Lifting & Firming Daily Moisturizer for my complexion and I totally love it! I have noticed such a difference in texture and line reduction in only a few weeks. I also use it on the back of my hands which have aged and have brown spots. These spots have faded slightly and I am so thankful I have found this product.

  • Kendra says:

I found your site through Southern Hospitality as well. Looks like I’ll be back again too – great site. I cannot live without Beauty Rush Soothing Lip Balm by Victoria’s Secret. It’s a must, especially in the winter months and also right before I go to bed. It’s completely soothing on my lips, and I love it!

It’s on sale right now too! 2/$12 or 5/$20. Pick some up. You won’t be disappointed.

  • Diane says:

An absolute favorite is Revlon’s Sheer Petal nail enamel. It gives my nails a clean, freshly groomed look and because the color is so pale, it doesn’t show chips or wear. One coat of color and a topcoat do the trick!

  • Rebecca says:

(For the giveaway at Southern Hospitality).
I LOVE bare escentuals foundation powder. I have scarring and red on my face and this product was like an answer to prayers.
Also, I cannot LIVE without MaxFactor 2000 calorie mascara, any bronzer, and good ol’ Vasaline for my lips!!!

  • Mary Bailey says:

So glad I discovered your site through Southern Hospitality. I am one of those people who has perpetual dark circles under my eyes no matter how well rested I am, so the one product I use consistently is an under eye concealer. I’ve never found one I’m 100% happy with, though, so I’m constantly trying different ones. Another product I like is the Twilight Woods Body Lotion from Bath & Body Works.

  • Debbie A says:

I’m here because Rhoda sent me from Southern Hospitality :-) The product I can’t live without up here in the cold north is Mary Kay’s Extra Emollient Night Cream. I use it as a facial once a week.

  • Very Interesting. I haven¡¯t had the same feeling here in Montreal, but I guess that isn¡¯t really suprising.get the best student loans
