THE DR. PHILBILLY SHOW – My Neighbor Beau
Ok…we have a family member that lives next door to us, let’s call him “Joey Ruiz”. He has a son named Beau who’s learning to talk. He’s the cutest little thing and I just love him to death. He runs around that hill playing and will talk up a storm, but there is one little problem. No one can understand a dang thing he is saying.
It’s so funny. You get the sense that he knows exactly what he is saying and he gets really frustrated when you ask “What did you just say?” or you look at his parents and say “What did he just say to me?” He just looks at you with those big brown eyes, puts his hands on your face so he has your full attention and repeats himself real slow like you’re stupid or something. You know he’s thinking “What’s wrong with you? You’re an adult aren’t you? You got a hearing problem? I know I’m only two years old but crap, you’re not that old. Get a grip Uncle Wayne!”
It turns out that Beau has this one kid video that he watches over and over. His momma, let’s call her Julie, always puts him down for his afternoon nap and puts in his favorite video. She never really paid much attention to the video before but one day she walked back in the room to check on him and realized what the problem has been. She breaks down laughing and just can’t believe it.
The video, turns out, is in Spanish. The dang kid speaks better Spanish than the teacher I had in high school. Now that’s some funny stuff right there. I don’t care who you are. Now the kicker to this whole story is Beau’s last name, which is “Ruiz.” That’s got Spanish influence, right? Go figure.
lmbo – just when i started to relate to the story with my 2 year old you break out the spanish card. i love it. bless his little heart, he needs an interpreter.
Little Paige…We need the interpreter. He knows exactly what he is saying, lol…He’s so cute tho. i call him my little Pablo, lol.
He’s so cute !! We just can’t understand a word he’s saying.. lol
Melissa…I ordered the Rosetta Stone CD today. That should help, lol.
They should really be more proactive… I would start showing him tapes of how to perform surgery, how to prosecute a case, maybe complile a video of all the speeches from winning presidential candidates, too. College is expensive. Just saying.
Paula…Who do you think I get to work on my cars and help my boys with homework, lol.
been there and done that. my kids would always pick up stuff from cartoons–only difference–they only used it when they DIDN’T want us to know what they were saying. they were cuter when they tried to teach us how to speak the language. they pick it up quicker than we do!!
Mississippi mama…Don’t let them watch King of the Hill then. Boomhower expecially. He can’t even understand himself, lol.
hell i have a hard enough time trying to understand what i am saying let alone a two year old…….i feel ya brother…..thats funny right thar dont kare how ya are……

ok Lets call me “Proud to be Beau’s Mom”!!! Brilliant! I am going to start showing him videos of…. Well lets just say Beau might be the 1st Spanish/Cajun speaking president! I can see it now… Some how he will work Crawfish into the constition!! Poor child! Ruiz can be very decieving—cause he has a Cajun French back ground! Thanks Uncle Wayne!
Julie…You absolutly know the pleasure was all mine. I think Beau will keep me in fresh material for years to come, lol. I just love him to death.
