ERIN’S STYLE FILE – You Say You Want A Resolution
With the new year comes the time honored tradition of making resolutions. With one exception (more on that below), I made them halfheartedly. There were consecutive resolutions to tone down my impatience on the road (I’m not a full blown road rageaholic, mind you) and to not take college football so seriously. I never did successfully achieve either of those, by the way.
For my resolution last year, I vowed to lose weight and get healthy. I didn’t even really know what my goal weight was and I didn’t want to set an unrealistic number or an overly ambitious deadline to achieve it by. Through hard work and discipline (and I’ll admit some deprivation—I miss you, pizza and burritos), I’m 60 pounds lighter.
Now that almost a year has passed, I have a number in my head I’m working toward. And with my weight loss comes a resolution for 2010. Before, I used to really inhibit myself on things I would do, places I would go, clothes I would wear, even things I would say. And it’s not that I’m suddenly feeling super self confident (self esteem is something else I’m working on with pep talks and affirmations from friends—shout out to Amy M. and Dr. Reid), but I’ve decided that at 31 I’ve probably missed out on a lot of living. And starting now, I’m breaking free. I’m going to do what I want (within legal boundaries, of course)! I have lots of lost time to make up for, y’all. Happy 2010!

You’re incredible! I’m amazed by you, Erin. Good luck with your new goal in 2010!
Congratulations on losing 60 pounds!!! I’m sure you are very proud of that!!!
