CONFESSIONS OF A HIGH MAINTENANCE CHICK – Nachos, Cheese Puffs, Pizza, Oh My!!!
If you are attending a Superbowl Party this weekend, you are not alone. In fact, the Superbowl is the number one at-home party event of the year according to Hallmark Cards, Inc. They also estimate that the average party headcount is 17 people. So unless you are the host of the party, rest assured that the food scene is covered. So all that’s left for a diva to do is to figure out one thing… WHAT TO WEAR. Hello?! You know your resident High Maintenance Chick (moi!) is here to save the day. Say ‘goodbye’ to baggy tee’s and mom jeans and make 2010 the year of Glam (age appropriate) Game Wear.
Disclaimer: Oh, BTW, this is a Saints-Only Zone for obvious reasons. This IS Southern Beauty Magazine after all. Soooo the only teams that matter are teams SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon Line. Sorry Indiana… you just didn’t make the cut. Who Dat?!?
If you are in your 20’s
Pretty much ‘anything goes’ when you are in your 20’s and game day fashion is no exception. Skip slouchy and have fun mixing dressy with ultra casual. Try a shiny blouse and ripped up jeggings (‘jeggings’-leggings made of jean material). Pile on the jewelry, but keep your make-up light and fresh.
On Jessica: Blouse by Trina Turk ($160), Joes Jeans “Dark Destroy” Jeggings ($98)
If you are in your 30’s
If 40 is the new 30, then it only makes sense that 30 is the new 20! But be careful diva. You’re not at the age where you can douse yourself in shiny and be cute. Try chains, zippers or grommets to add some Saints spirit to a plain black tank dress.
On Sheryl: Sugar Lips grommet dress ($79), Ralph Lauren Crew Neck Sweater in Gold ($52)
If you are in your 40’s
Contrary to popular believe, ladies in their forties and beyond can still have glam AND comfort on game day. The key is subtlety. Terri is rocking her team’s colors via a gold handbag and gold embroidery on her black tunic. The look is complete with black tights and black riding boots.
On Terri: Lily Pulitzer “Shawna” Tunic Dress in Mascara Black ($180)

OUR TEAM…OUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEAUX SAINTS…WHO DAT!!!!!
I love joe’s jeans! they are so comfortable and fit so well. I never bought expensive jeans before and these were my foray into couture jeans and it really has paid off. I only wish I made more money to keep up with my new found taste into denim.
