LIFE ACCORDING TO LISA – Good Fortune Soap

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 21 July 2010No Comment

I had been trying to visit Good Fortune Soap in Athens, TN for months and was finally able to get there a couple of months ago! I had a gorgeous springtime drive through the green rolling hills of east Tennessee. The farm where Good Fortune is currently located is certainly “out in the country” so it’s good that Jennifer does a lot of her business on line at www.goodfortunesoap.com. The physical location of the business is in the process of moving so I sure am glad that I got to visit before the change.

Good Fortune Soap is the brainchild of the self taught soap maker Jennifer Jack.  She was a graphic artist (you can tell that by her great packaging) but decided she wanted a career that was filled with her passion for helping others. From her Faucet Soaps, which are great used either outdoors or inside, to her Edible Lip Scrub that you smooth on and lick off, you can be sure that all her products are natural and free of parabens and sulfates. The scents she adds to her soaps, lotions and sprays are fabulous and long lasting! I love anything with a lavender scent and Good Fortunes lavender scented products are truly “natural lavender” smelling. They smell like the real thing that I grow in my back yard!

Jennifer makes private label products for several different companies. She also teaches soap making classes for interested parties and she has recently started Soap for Hope. This program assists disadvantaged girls by teaching them life skills and giving them hope for a college education.

You can visit Jennifer and Good Fortune Soap at www.goodfortunesoap.com.  You’ll love the “good for you” products, the fabulous scents and knowing that you’re supporting someone’s dream of spreading hope.
