I can’t believe that yesterday, at 9:13 pm, Sarah Margaret turned two. It really seems like she was just brought home from the hospital. She has celebrated in big style all week. Birthday party with the family on Sunday, cookies with MDO group on Tuesday and cupcakes with Jess for an afternoon snack on Friday. I think we are setting a birthday “week” precedent in this house.

She got a ton of gifts from the family and I finally had to put some of them away just to get them out a little later, hoping that this will help her actually play with everything. I have cleaned out the toy box and realized that there are tons of toys in there that she has never played with, which makes me think that we’ve been wasting money and space. Of course, when I purchased the toys I just knew that she would love playing with them but now they are sitting in a gray storage tote. I keep wondering if I will be able to give them away without a shedding a few tears. Is this the end of her babyhood?

Just seems like the kids grow so quickly- and I’m talking more quickly than anyone ever hinted. Just a few months ago, Sarah Margaret was struggling with words, and now she’s talking all the time. She’s perfecting the “please” and “thank you” and just this morning she heard William sneeze and said said “bless” back to him. Hilarious!

She has recently taken to asking me “Mommee?  Whur Pete?” so she apparently knows Daddee’s name. Pete thinks it is funny but doesn’t really want to hear her say it any more. She also has decided to talk to William and tell him “Waay-yum!  I see you Waay-yum!” She cracks me up.

I just can’t believe that she’s becoming a little adult. Maybe I can get William stalled out at only five months. Think that’s possible?
